I would think the economy is still in recovery mode and market is in a stage of confidence building and accumulation for the next leg up. Staying vested in equities, though, I have allocated more cash into Australian short-term deposit of 1-3months tenure. I find having more cash, even if it earns a meager return of 4.5%, allows me to sleep better at night  and not worrying too much on the fluctuation of the equity portfolio.

a rare update as usual... any thoughts on the recent run up on wall street, due possibly to the better than expected jobs report?

Don't focused too much on 1 single data point like the jobs report. A lot of data points(critical or otherwise) collate to form the market's opinion which influence its sentiment.

I still believe this is a nascent economic recovery and market is in a stage of confidence building, unless the macro environment starts telling me otherwise.

I've noticed a higher number of my blue chips moving towards 52wk high and some have started breaking their 52wk highs for reasons unknown to me.

ok.. i agree with you on not paying too much attention on one data point.. anyway i think the reason alot of your stocks are nearing 52 weeks high is because of what you call the nascent recovery...

just saw a post by you on salary.sg... you are indeed UHNW.....

Uh.. you must have gotten the wrong person. a UHNW is someone with USD$30mil in investible assets.

I am still trying to reach the VHNW (USD$10-15mil) status. Another 5 more years to my target.

From your portfolio update, are you selling most of your hedge funds in your portfolio? Which means you are not believe in HF anymore?
